We are a full service video and film production company specializing in storytelling, great visuals, and exceptional results.
Marianne is a producer, director and writer of television documentaries and series television with more than two dozen documentary producing credits, which have earned her 7 Emmy® Awards and more than 20 nominations for her producing, directing and writing work. She has worked with artist James Hubbell for 12 years, as Executive Director of the non-profit Ilan-Lael Foundation, helping expand its mission and programs, and aid in its transition from private home to public resource. This close friendship provided unprecedented access to Hubbell’s art and family life, the basis of the film “James Hubbell – Between Heaven and Earth.” This film has been screened in New York City, Vancouver, B.C., Washington D.C. and Amsterdam, TheNetherlands. Marianne works closely with her husband, Director of Photography Michael Gerdes. Together they produce the public television series “A Growing Passion” which airs nationally on the Create Channel and on KPBS-TV in San Diego. Marianne has won numerous other awards from business associations and historical preservation groups for her work in the documentation of San Diego. She was elected to NATAS’s Silver Circle for 25 years of outstanding contribution to the broadcast community. She was also a nominee for San Diego Magazine’s ‘Women Who Move The City.’

Michael is a director of photography for television documentaries, series television, and corporate clients with numerous short and long form documentary credits. These include "The Impossible Railroad", "Eye of the Beholder - The Art of James Hubbell", "Los Romeros", "John Asaro - A Painter of Beautiful Women", and "James Hubbell - Between Heaven and Earth." He is also Director of Photography for the ongoing series, "A Growing Passion", which airs on public television nationally on the Create-TV channel. His work has received numerous Emmy® nominations and he is the recipient of numerous industry awards including Telly's, Society of Professional Journalists and NAPTE Iris Awards. Working with Producer Lee Harvey in "Methanphetamine---The Streets of San Diego", they earned the Dupont-Columbia Award for Journalism, for excellence in journalism in the public service. He was elected to NATAS's silver Circle for 25 years of outstanding contribution to the broadcast community. His broadcast and corporate client list includes PBS, ABC, NBC, Entertainment Tonight, Nike, The Oprah Show, The Rachel Ray Show, The Doctors, Hay House Publishing, SONY, San Diego State University, and many others. Michael is a San Diego native who spends his free time growing his world class plumeria collection, or enjoying the beach on his SUP or surfboard.
